Ntungamo, Uganda – Residents of Abatanyata area within Rubaare town council in Ntungamo District are growing increasingly concerned about the high incidence of accidents in their area.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!This concern follows a devastating road crash that occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, along the Ntungamo-Kabale Road, resulting in the deaths of three people.
The accident involved a Toyota Hiace minibus UBH 322 W, traveling from Ntungamo to Kabale, and a motorcycle UFE 361 S, coming from Kabale.
According to sources, the minibus driver, who is currently on the run, veered off his lane and collided with the motorcycle, killing the rider and two male adult passengers.
Traffic police, led by AIP Manzi, OC Traffic Rubaare, visited the scene and the bodies were taken to Itojo Hospital mortuary for postmortem and the wreckage was towed to Rubaare Police Station for inspection.
Police attributed the accident to reckless driving by the minibus driver and have launched an investigation into the incident.
This accident is the second to occur in the same stretch of road within a week following the last Friday accident, which a motor vehicle crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring two others.
Residents allege that the exact stretch, located near Pearl Flowers Garden owned by Minister Janet Museveni, has become prone to accidents.
Residents have expressed fears of possible witchcraft or rituals taking place at the same spot, citing previous incidents. The current incident is under investigation to determine the cause.
