UCC Expresses Commitment to Support Growth of Uganda’s Film Industry

Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the country’s film industry.

This was revealed on Monday, January 3, 2025, during a meeting between UCC Executive Director George William Nyombi Thembo and the National Cultural Forum team at UCC House in Bugolobi.

During the meeting, Thembo emphasized the Commission’s dedication to nurturing the creative industry through various initiatives.

He highlighted initiatives, including the Uganda Film and Content Development Support Programme, designed to build capacity and recognize local talent.

The discussion centered on the challenges facing the film industry, with the UCC seeking to address these hurdles and promote growth.

By supporting the industry, the Commission aims to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development and showcase Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.
