Musasizi who doubles as the Rubanda East Mp was yesterday speaking at Ishanga Cell in Kagarama Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District where he had gone to listen to people’s concerns regarding social economic development.

He reiterated Government’s commitment to ensure that the PDM program succeeds as the last strategy to alleviate poverty at household level.

“We want to make sure that at least each Ugandan wakes up in the morning with a program to do something that brings money in his or her pocket,” Musasizi said.

The Minister urged Ugandans to move from subsistence to commercial agriculture, by increasing the quantity of projects that they do on average sized pieces of land.

He spent part of the day walking  around villages inspecting crop gardens and sensitizing people about commercial agriculture.

“It’s true we have to eat, but as you plant food crops, always remember to also use part of the land to plant crops for sale or other projects like rearing animals for sale,” He said.

CUE IN …MUSASIZI ON PDM

On his next engagement with Locals at Bushato Church of Uganda, residents appreciated the Government for the PDM initiative, and some of them acknowledged receipt of the funds. They also took the opportunity to thank Minister Musasizi for personally procuring and distributing hoes to each household, as a boost to the PDM program implementation in Rubanda East Constituency.

The Locals however, expressed concern about community roads that had been damaged by rains and asked for the Minister’s intervention. They also requested for his contribution to replacing the leaking iron sheets at Bushato C.O.U.

CUE IN…LOCALS ON PDM

In response, Musasizi pledged to forward their road issues to the Rubanda District Local Government led by LC.5 Chairman Stephen Kasyaba for appropriate response. He also pledged to replace the entire roofing structure at Bushato C.O.U and handed over Shs. 1 Million Cash to the Church Choir for buying Uniform.

On the same day, Musasizi, accompanied by the Rubanda District Assistant RDC Martin Turyagyenda, continued to Bushuura Trading Centre in Bushuura Ward where they delivered the same messages, especially about PDM.

According to Mr. Turyagyenda, a total of Shs. 600 Million had been disbursed through PDM SACCOs in Hamuhambo town Council in the last two financial years, and each village had at least 14 beneficiaries who acquired the PDM loans.

Mr. Turyagyenda also revealed that still in Hamuhambo Town Council, Government had distributed up to shs. 40 million in Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Program (UWEP), and shs. 53.6 million for the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP)
