The suspect in custody has been identified as Swaibu Murundi, a resident of Butamba village, Kayabwe Town Council, in Mpigi district who is alleged to have defiled girls aged 16,15,15,14, and 12 since 2020 up to date.

Among the Victims 4 girls aged 16, 15, 14 and 12 are his biological daughters being predefined and the 5th girl victim, being a daughter to his close friend, whom he victimized, while paying school fees for her.

The Uganda Police Force Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga told the press that the victims had all along kept quiet after their father/guardian threatened to bewitch and kill them using witchcraft.

He added that the suspect lived in a well-fenced premise, sited on 2 acres, that was restricted to the public with his home having 3 gates where his clients used one gate that led to the traditional shrines.

It is also said that the cottage where Murundi (suspect) slept, was found isolated and is a traditional practice for him to have carnal knowledge, with his daughters once they clocked 12 years.

Fred Enanga said that the sexual act would thereafter, become routine, every evening, the victims would gather at a fire place for rituals, eat food and then proceed to their father or guardian’s cottage, for the sexual act.

The police spokesperson further said the police continues to strongly condemn acts of defilement of girl victims by their fathers and guardians who separated with the biological mothers of his 4 daughters years back.

Enanga added that the police appreciates the efforts of the D/RDC, DPC, DISO, CID, CFPU and the Probation Office for their hard work during the operation against Child Sexual Violence and exploitation.
