In a Twit by the in line Minister Hon. Babirye Milly Babaranda on the Ministry official twitter handle, the Minister confirmed of how the ministry is appointing 2 Assistant RDCs/RCCs in every District/City as a third office introduced in the office of the RDC.

Speaking to this reporter, the Former Kawempe South Member of Parliament Mubarak Munyagwa accused the government for straining the national coffers with unnecessary administrative posts at the expense of boosting service delivery.

He added that creating other administrative units yet taxes are increasing, is another burden to Taxpayers after when the taxes are evaded on them, the government uses an iron hand even with no value of money is seen.

“There is a lot of extravagance in those agencies, and we need a central body to review these salaries. When I was the chairman of COSASE, I requested information on the salaries of all government agencies. The Executive Directors are earning UGX 40 million and above per month, why all this?” said Mubarak Munyagwa.

The Ntungamo District LC V Councilor Hon. Naborth Mpirigwe said that the move to appointing Assistant RDCs is good for a governance system, because patriotism is very key and rallying people to embrace government programs within the districts is necessary.

Hon. Naborth added that the new appointments need to be clear as most of the people may fail to work under their RDCs because of high levels of Education, Salaries, among others.

Clarifying and confirming the recruitment Assistant RDCs Minister Milly Babaranda said that after they are complete with the requisite public service procedures a full list of successful staff will be published.
