RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – The Bunyaruguru County Member of Parliament, Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo, has issued a clarion call for harmony and reconciliation, emphasizing the need for community cohesion following the recent elections.

During the ceremony led by His Grace Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha, Hon. Cadet stressed that love, unity, mutual respect, and a shared purpose are the essential pillars for sustainable development.
He urged Christians and all community members to set aside political differences and renew their commitment to working together for the progress of Bunyaruguru County.
“After elections, we must come together as one people, one community. Our shared goals, education, health, economic growth, are far greater than what divides us. Let love and respect guide our interactions,” Hon. Cadet stated.
The legislator encouraged parents to cooperate in supporting their children’s education, including through joint efforts in paying school fees, and to stand by one another in all aspects of community life.
Demonstrating his personal commitment to the parish and the community, Cadet and his family contributed 5 million shillings in support of the Archbishop’s pastoral visit to Rugazi, pledging to continue supporting community and church initiatives.
Rev. Fr. Alphonse Mukundane, the Parish Priest of Rugazi Catholic Parish, explained that the Archbishop’s visit was primarily to sacramentally confirm the 305 young Christians.
He urged the newly confirmed to live virtuous lives, become role models in the community, and be ambassadors of faith and goodwill.
“To the youth, I say: embrace discipline, work hard, be good ambassadors in your communities, and spread the word of God through your actions,” Fr. Mukundane advised.
Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha of Mbarara Archdiocese called on the faithful to deepen their love and trust in God, show respect to all, and reject unfair divisions of labor and opportunity within society.
He also emphasized the importance of strong family bonds, urging the youth to honour their parents and encouraging parents to raise their children with sound moral values.
The Archbishop commended the community’s support for the Church and its mission, urging continued cooperation and for all to become positive role models for the next generation.
The mass featured a vibrant celebration of faith through traditional music, dance, and a strong community turnout, highlighting the Church’s role as both a spiritual home and a catalyst for social harmony and development.
