The event was held on the morning of Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at the Kigezi College Butobere Training Centre. It was attended by a high-ranking delegation of police officials, underscoring the importance of the training.

Notable attendees included the Regional Training Officer SP Tumuheirwe, Kabale District Police Commander SP Charles Okello, Human Resource Manager SP Jacobs Kule, Regional Community Liaison Officer SP Gilbert Mwebembezi, along with representatives from the Legal and Human Rights, ICT, and Public Relations departments.

Wabwire urged trainers to employ considerate handling and flexibility, emphasizing mindful approaches for the diverse civilian trainees and the need for adaptability within the strict training schedule.

He stressed that trainers must lead by example in all aspects of discipline, setting a standard of exemplary conduct for the recruits to follow.

Instructors were also directed to deliver comprehensive foundational training, covering essentials from protocol and uniform dress code to professional on-duty conduct and specific polling station responsibilities.

The RPC further thanked the passionate recruits for their service and urged them to dedicate themselves completely to the course. He emphasized mutual respect between trainees and trainers as a foundation of the program.

He firmly warned against any acts of lawlessness or disruptive behaviour, mandating that no one may leave the training centre without obtaining official permission.

He encouraged the recruits to build their service on a love for their job and country, a commitment to passionate duty, and loyalty to leadership coupled with respect for all.

Meanwhile, a total of 4,724 Special Election Constables were recruited in the Kigezi region to reinforce the police before, during, and after the upcoming national elections on a three-month contract.

The recruits, who are undergoing two weeks of training at three centres within the Kigezi region, are distributed as follows: Kabale district (730), Kanungu (884), Kisoro (998), Rubanda (670), Rukiga (334), and Rukungiri (1,108).
