RUKUNGIRI, UGANDA – As Uganda looks ahead to the 2026 general election, Gumisiriza Gerald, the Western Region Foot Soldiers Coordinator for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), has scheduled the launch of a revealing political novel for December this year.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

The upcoming novel, The Silence of the Brave, sends a strong message against the sin of silence, arguing that those who stay quiet while others suffer become complicit in their pain.

Gumisiriza’s striking social media posts about the book have stirred curiosity and debate, amplified by his political background and the message’s undertones.

Many readers anticipate that the novel will delve deeply into Uganda’s current political and social realities, questioning the power of silence in the face of injustice.

Gerald is no stranger to politics, having served as the PLU Western Region Foot Soldiers Coordinator and been a strong supporter of both the Patriotic League of Uganda and the NRM.

He had previously declared his interest in contesting for the Rubabo County MP seat before the PLU was dissolved by its chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The once-vibrant political figure subsequently withdrew from public life, his presence fading in strongholds like Nyakishenyi and Buyanja as he shifted focus to a writing career.

In late 2023, he released his first widely acclaimed novel, Beyond the Village Struggles, a story that resonated deeply with readers for its portrayal of rural resilience and social change.

With The Silence of the Brave, Gerald appears ready to make yet another bold statement—one that may challenge the very system he once supported.

So, who is Gumisiriza Gerald? He is a Bwanga-Nyarushanje-based educator, writer, and emerging lawyer, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Makerere University.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws, he combines his expertise in education and governance with a passion for literature that exposes social truths.
