“This ambulance will greatly benefit vulnerable groups, especially pregnant mothers and the elderly, by improving their access to medical care and emergency services,” Kibuka stated.
Residents Ferediana Bagambagye and Kirabo Doreen echoed widespread relief and gratitude, sharing how the long-standing absence of reliable emergency transport has severely impacted maternal health outcomes.
They recounted the dangers pregnant women have faced, being forced to rely on unsafe transportation which, due to critical delays, has historically led to increased maternal mortality in the region.
“The lack of an ambulance in our rural area has severely affected us. As pregnant women, we have been forced to rely on unsafe and unreliable transportation to reach health centers. These delays have often resulted in tragic losses,” the residents recounted.
The donation of the ambulance is expected to usher in a new era of improved healthcare accessibility and emergency response, bringing a sigh of relief to the people of the area and surrounding communities.
