The vehicle, donated by the Uganda Police Force leadership, is expected to significantly improve emergency response times and healthcare access in the mountainous district.

Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime emphasized the importance of the new ambulance in improving service delivery, stating that it would empower the police to serve the community better.

“The arrival of this ambulance is timely. The terrain in Kasese is challenging, and an additional ambulance will significantly improve our emergency response efforts, enabling us to reach accident scenes and medical emergencies faster, provide better patient care during transport, and ultimately save more lives,” Tumushime said.

SP Tumushime extended his appreciation to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abbas Byakagaba, the Deputy IGP, and the Director of Medical Services for their support in securing the vital resource.

He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to utilizing the ambulance efficiently, ensuring that residents benefit from faster and more reliable emergency medical services.

“We deeply appreciate the generosity of the Uganda Police Force leadership. This ambulance will strengthen our ability to serve the community more effectively. Our team remains committed to providing exceptional care, and we are grateful to the Uganda Police Force for entrusting us with this vital, life-saving resource,” Tumushime added.

Kasese’s rugged terrain and frequent road accidents have long hindered emergency response, but with this new ambulance, the Kasese Police Medical Unit is now better equipped to save lives, demonstrating the Uganda Police Force’s commitment to community health and safety.
