NTUNGAMO – The jubilant Arsenal fans in Rwahi, Ntungamo district, have raised over 100 iron sheets to support the ongoing construction works at Rukukuru – Rwahi Health Unit in Ntungamo district.

This was during the massive celebration of Arsenal’s historic Premier League title held on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at Rwahi Satellite Hotel, which was nothing short of a carnival.

The function, which attracted about 500 Arsenal fans from Ntungamo and the neighbouring districts, was transformed into a major community development drive to construct a health unit.

The event kicked off with a vibrant brass band convoy through the streets of Rwahi town and culminated in a lavish luncheon at Satellite Hotel, complete with flowing food, drinks, and impassioned speeches.

Kampala businessman Simuka Muhamedi, who presided as the guest of honor, lifted the crowd’s spirits by donating a cow slaughtered right on the spot for the feast.

He then urged everyone to channel their energy beyond sports, calling for continued fan cooperation to develop their community, and promised two cows for every future Arsenal trophy to fund community feasts.

“We are not just fans cheering for the same jersey. Supporting Arsenal has sewn our hearts into one fabric, so let every trophy we win be a reason not only to celebrate but also to feed our neighbors. I pledge two cows for every future Arsenal trophy for a community feast. Lastly, I charge my fellow fans: let us shift this energy beyond the pitch and into building the home we all share,” said Simuka Muhamedi.

The Chairperson of the organizing committee, Katongore Hamis, popularly known as Witare, a heavy transport vehicles businessman based in Rwahi town, commended the fans for putting their team at heart.

He revealed that the group had already slaughtered four cows to mark the Premier League victory but were poised to slaughter even more if Arsenal added the Champions League trophy.

“Today we celebrate not just a trophy, but the heartbeat of a community that never walks alone. We have slaughtered four cows today to mark our Premier League victory, and we are ready to slaughter even more if Arsenal adds the Champions League trophy,” said Witare.

Witare added that they are building a family beyond matches and meat, with bigger plans to form a formal Fans’ Association to carry their unity through grief and happiness alike, because football ends but brotherhood must not.

Some fans, including Hajji Kakande and Amanya Denius, urged a change in mindset, arguing that the passion shown for Arsenal should be replicated for local sports.

They noted that with the right motivation, young athletes like Paul Michurezi and Mukundane can become stars themselves instead of only praying for international teams.

On Sunday, May 24th, 2026, Arsenal was officially handed the Premier League trophy for the 2025/26 season, ending a 22-year drought since their last league crown in the 2003/04 season.
