Kampala, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has announced the deployment of a team to conduct the village structure and LC1 Chairperson flag bearer elections scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th.

Representing NRM Secretary-General Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, the party’s Deputy National Treasurer confirmed that zonal supervisors and district party registrars have been dispatched to the village level to facilitate the electoral process.

Hon. Kyatuhaire emphasized the importance of delivering free, fair, and credible election results, stating that the exercise will be conducted in accordance with the established rules and regulations.

The campaigns for these positions commenced on Thursday, April 1st, 2025, following the expression of interest and nomination exercise in the 72,000 NRM polling stations.

The elections aim to elect flag bearers for the village structure and LC1 Chairperson positions, crucial roles in the party’s grassroots leadership.
