Kampala, Uganda – Uganda’s Electoral Commission has announced a revision in the display schedule of the National Voters Register, calling on all stakeholders to participate in the exercise.
According to a press release dated April 14, 2025, and signed by Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama, the display exercise will now take place from April 25 to May 15, 2025, replacing the previously scheduled dates of April 17 to May 8, 2025.
The commission has also adjusted the timeline for displaying Registers for Special Interest Groups (SIGs), including the National Youth Voters’ Register, National PWDs Voters’ Register, and National Older Persons Voters’ Register.
The new dates for SIGs are April 25 to May 8, 2025, replacing the initial schedule of April 17-28, 2025.With over 40,000 polling stations expected to participate, the Electoral Commission urges everyone to take part in this critical exercise.
The update aims to enable eligible Ugandan citizens to register, transfer voting locations, or confirm their particulars in the voters’ register.
Justice Simon Byabakama has urged all stakeholders to participate in the General Update exercise, following the guidelines that will be issued for the exercise.
The voters’ register will be publicized for each parish or ward throughout Uganda from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on each of the appointed dates, including weekends.
