Kasese, Uganda – A massive fire broke out at the Kalita Bus Parking Yard in Kasese Municipality on Wednesday, leaving property worth millions in ashes.

According to Rwenzori East Region-Kasese Police Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime, police fire and rescue services swiftly responded to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other properties.
Tumushime urged residents in Kasese Township to remain calm as authorities worked to determine the cause of the fire.
“Our officers swiftly responded to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading. We urge residents to remain calm as we investigate the cause of the blaze.” Said Nelson Tumushime.
The police have taken charge of the fire scene, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
