RUBANDA – Rubanda District Council leaders have been urged to transcend political divisions, uphold unwavering integrity, and place the delivery of essential services to local communities at the heart of their mandate.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The decisive charge was issued on Thursday by the District Vice Chairperson, Hon. Akampurira Kesaphari Prossy, during the inaugural council session marking the start of the 2026–2031 term.
Representing District Chairperson Stephen Kasyaba, Hon. Akampurira told councilors that their decisions will leave a lasting mark on the lives of Rubanda residents, urging members to embrace unity and collective deliberation.
She outlined the new term’s priority areas, including clean water access, farmer support, youth opportunities, women’s empowerment, environmental protection, and accountable public resource management, under the service delivery approach.
“The campaign period is over, and the people now expect us to work together for the common good. The ball now is in our hands and the future generations will judge us not by the speeches we make, but by the lives we improve,” stated Akampurira.
The Vice Chairperson further pledged unwavering support from both her office and the Chairperson’s to all councilors, irrespective of political affiliation, as they collectively pursue the district’s development agenda.
Chief Administrative Officer Samuel Ahabwe assured the council of the technical team’s commitment to professional and timely support, emphasizing that effective service delivery depends on collaboration.
He further pledged that the district administration would faithfully implement all lawful council resolutions, noting that when political direction and professional execution align, the people of Rubanda emerge as the greatest beneficiaries.
“When political leaders provide clear strategic direction and the technical team delivers with professionalism and integrity, the people of Rubanda are the ultimate winners. My team and I are fully committed to faithfully implementing every lawful resolution this council passes,” Ahabwe said.
Also attending the council session, Woman MP Hon. Evelyn Kikafunda called on councilors to rise above political divisions and focus on serving the people of Rubanda, while celebrating the new leadership as a force for meaningful transformation.
She further pledged that the district’s parliamentary representatives would collaborate closely to drive improvements in health, education, and infrastructure for all communities.
The inaugural sitting saw the confirmation of committee Chairpersons, with Hon. George Buhiika heading Finance, Hon. Kasaja Alex Asiimwe securing Social Services, and Hon. Twinomuhangi Pastoli taking charge of Production and Marketing.
The committee chairpersons confirmation officially launched the new council’s term, marking the beginning of the 2026–2031 journey and the start of dedicated service delivery across Rubanda District.
