More Than Romance: Husbands Called to Unwavering Integrity in Marriage

NTUNGAMO – Husbands have been called to uphold unwavering integrity and lasting endurance in their marriages, recognizing that the union demands much more than romance.

The charge was issued on Sunday, May 3, 2026, to six newlywed couples shortly after they exchanged vows during a joyous mass wedding at St. Paul’s Parish Murambi, in Rugarama Sub-county, Ntungamo District.

Presiding as the main celebrant, Ven. Denis Kunywana, the Archdeacon of Rugarama Archdeaconry, challenged wedded men to uphold moral strength and resilience in order to win their wives’ love and build stronger families.

He reminded the couples that marriage is not always easy, as it brings seasons of pressure and misunderstanding, but the measure of a godly marriage lies in seeking solutions to the challenges that arise.

“A marriage without integrity is like a house built on sand; it will crumble at the first storm. And endurance without love is merely suffering. But when a husband walks in honesty and stands firm through difficulties, his wife’s heart will trust him, and that trust is the true foundation of a stronger family,” said Ven. Kunywana.

The St. Paul’s Parish Murambi priest, Rev. Jovart Kutushabe Mbayo, urged all couples to remain faithful, work as partners, and honor their vows before God and the congregation.

He emphasized that a sacred marriage requires daily commitment, mutual respect, the willingness to grow through trials, and the strength to let marriage vows guide them through every storm and every sunshine.

“Let the vows you exchange today be not just words, but the compass that guides your faithfulness, your partnership, and your love through every storm and every sunshine,” said Rev. Kutushabe.

The event was marked by hymns, prayers, and an atmosphere of collective joy, as the six couples tied the knot with messages that left a lasting impression: love conquers not by force, but through faithful endurance.
