The message was issued on Sunday, April 5th, 2026, as the leaders both joined and presided over Easter celebrations at various churches in the district.

Attending Easter celebration mass at Rugazi Catholic Parish, the Rubirizi District elected Woman MP, Hon. Jeniva Arinaitwe, called upon Christians to embrace hope, discipline, and forgiveness in their communities.

Hon. Jeniva observed that the resurrection of Jesus Christ proclaims God’s triumph over sin and death, inviting people into a new life, as the joy and freedom of Easter transform their hearts to walk daily in the victorious love of God.

“Embrace hope, discipline, and forgiveness in your communities. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves God’s victory over sin and death and invites us to live a new life. Let the joy and freedom of Easter transform your hearts as you walk daily in the victorious love of God,” MP Jeniva observed.

Hon. Jeniva Arinaitwe committed 100 million shillings towards the renovation of Rugazi Catholic Church, describing the donation as a token of appreciation for God’s unfailing love.

While at Ndekye Archdeaconry in the West Ankole Diocese, the elected Member of Parliament for Bunyaruguru, Hon. Cadet Benjamin, cautioned youth against engaging in harmful acts that could jeopardize their future.

The legislator urged youth to protect themselves from negative peer groups, avoid early marriages and drug abuse, as these can ruin their lives and limit their future opportunities.

He also reminded parents to work together in love, humility, sacrifice, and perseverance, while encouraging young people to stay focused and abstain from evil in order to achieve their goals.

“Avoid early marriages and drug abuse; they steal your future. Protect yourself from bad peer groups, stay focused, and abstain from evil to reach your goals. Parents, love your children; work together with humility, sacrifice, and perseverance,” MP Cadet remarked.

Presiding over the Easter mass commemoration at Ndekye Archdeaconry, Ven. Canon Yorokamu Tayebwa called on Christians to embrace harmony, shun hatred, theft, and adultery, and pursue reconciliation, spiritual renewal, and forgiveness.

He warned that parents who neglect their children may see no positive change in their homes, urging them to treat education as an investment, provide quality learning, and protect their children from negative influences during this Easter festival.
