BUSHENYI, UGANDA – Christians from Christ the King Church and St. Kaggwa parishes in Bushenyi joined the rest of the faithful yesterday, April 3, 2026, in observing the Way of the Cross in commemoration of Good Friday.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The solemn event was led by Rev. Fr. Everist Mutambi and Rev. Fr. Vincent Mucunguzi Masteady, who preached on repentance, salvation, and humanity’s relationship with God.
Fr. Mutambi emphasized that this period calls for total repentance and hard work, stating that these are the only ways to live a fruitful life on earth.
In a related development, Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni joined parishioners of Bweranyangi Deanery for a church service celebrating the Way of the Cross and Good Friday.
While preaching, he urged Christians to continually reflect on God’s teachings and contextualize them in today’s life. He added that this is the only solution to the modern problems facing society.
Good Friday is observed by Christians worldwide as a solemn holiday commemorating the crucifixion, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ.
Observed during Holy Week, it is considered “good” not because of the pain of His death, but because it represents Christ’s ultimate sacrifice to atone for humanity’s sins, offering redemption and hope.
