KISORO, UGANDA – Police in Kisoro District are investigating the suspected murder of a 43-year-old man whose body was discovered early Friday morning along a roadside in Nturo Trading Centre, near a fuel station.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased has been identified as Sanvura Godfrey, a resident of Sagitwe Village, Mabungo Parish, Nyarusiza Sub County, and a driver by profession.
The lifeless body of Godfrey was discovered by businessman Ngabe Moses Sebahire, a resident of the same village, who notified police at around 8:30 AM on April 3, 2026.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, noting that a team of officers led by Detective Sergeant Tumwijuke Sande was mobilized and responded swiftly to the scene.
The officers meticulously documented the scene, recorded statements from the reporter and other relevant witnesses, and retrieved the corpse to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
“Upon receiving the incident report, our homicide team led by Detective Sergeant Tumwijuke Sande, the scene of crime officer, and other detectives visited and documented the scene. They recorded statements from the reporter and other key witnesses and took the body to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem exam,” confirmed Elly Maate.
Maate added that a suspected murder case has been opened at Kisoro Police Station, where ongoing inquiries are underway, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
