The call was made by the incoming Member of Parliament for Bunyaruguru constituency, Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo, while attending Palm Sunday celebrations at Buhinda Catholic Parish in Rutoto sub-county, Rubirizi district.

Addressing the congregation, Buturo emphasized the critical role parents play in shaping the next generation, urging them to embrace spiritual growth within their households.

He called on them to nurture values of love, kindness, and togetherness among young people, stating that inspiring acts of kindness and generosity in the growing generation begin within homes.

“The critical role parents play in shaping the next generation cannot be overstated. Inspiring acts of kindness and generosity in the growing generation begin within homes,” stated Hon. Buturo.

Presiding over the Palm Sunday mass, the Deputy Parish Priest of Buhinda Catholic Parish, Rev. Fr. Adolf Ludigo, encouraged the youth to cultivate a deep love for God, respect for others, personal smartness, discipline, and a strong work ethic.

Fr. Ludigo stressed the importance of striving to be exemplary role models for future generations, noting that the choices made today will shape the community of tomorrow.

He further urged Christians to prioritize the education of their children, while also advising parents to engage in income-generating activities to ensure household stability and the ability to provide for their families’ needs.

“Trust in God as your savior and prioritize the education of your children. Parents, engage in income-generating activities to ensure household stability so that you can provide for your families’ needs. Work together in harmony, avoid conflicts, and focus on peaceful actions that foster prosperity,” urged Fr. Ludigo.

The priest also reminded the faithful to show compassion to the vulnerable by actively promoting justice and strengthening communal bonds.

The Palm Sunday celebrations marked the beginning of Holy Week for Christians worldwide, serving as a poignant moment for all the faithful entirely.
