NTUNGAMO, UGANDA – Radio Ankole kicks off Ekijumeero Rubarurantojo preparations with a big football match against Kyangara FC at Kyangara playground on Sunday, 8th March 2026.

Goals from Ian Nimusiima and Saddam Tinyefuza in the first and second halves, respectively, gave Radio Ankole a convincing win ahead of upcoming games across Ntungamo and neighbouring districts.

The game was watched by a mammoth gathering that included local council leaders, clergy, and Radio Ankole agents and fans.
Speaking to the congregation, Radio Ankole station manager Elly Katahinga, represented by his assistant in charge of Production and Technical, Kakama Dickson Odongo Tabaaro, hailed both teams for the good game displayed and informed the public about the second edition of Ekijumeero Rubarurantojo, which will feature a cocktail of artists.
Kakama thanked the public for their support in the previous edition, Ekijumeero kya Radio Ankole, and asked for more support in the upcoming one on 4th July 2026 at Kyamate playground.
Radio Ankole accountant CPA Kyomukama Immaculate, alias Maama Kijumeero, expressed happiness for the peaceful game that ushered in the Radio Ankole Football Tour aimed at cementing a cordial relationship between Radio Ankole and communities.

She implored Radio Ankole clients, business partners, and fans to embrace the second edition of Ekijumeero Rubarurantojo, noting that the entry fee for ordinary, VIP, for a table, and 1 and VIP table will be cheaper.
The Ntungamo sub-county LCV councillors, Mpireirwe Naboth and Jadress Niwagaba Tumugumye, commended Radio Ankole, the first radio in Ntungamo District having started on 24th June 2005, for launching the second edition of its Football Tour in their sub-county.
The Ntungamo sub-county NRM chairperson, who represented Kyangara FC, Kiiza Godfrey, conceded defeat and welcomed Radio Ankole, pledging to support all its activities.
The Radio Ankole Football Tour to Kyangara started with a tree-planting activity at Kamunyiga Primary School, where two trees were planted.
The event was led by Mama Kijumeero and witnessed by headteacher Tumugumye Geofrey, PTA chairman Ssekomi Johnson, Kamugisha Wilber Bahoora (Radio Ankole’s team coordinator in the area), and councillor Patrick Rwakabaare, among others.
