KABALA, UGANDA – The lifeless body of a Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) officer, who had been missing for the last five days, has been discovered at his residence in Kabale District.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased officer has been identified as Sergeant Robert Tumwesigye (Regimental No. RA.185408), an intelligence officer attached to the 2nd Division and deployed at the Mukokye border in Maziba Sub County, Kabale District.
According to the Kigezi regional police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, the grim discovery was reported to Maziba Police Station by the local area chairperson, Christopher Nkaneziyo.
“The deceased UPDF Officer Sergeant Robert Tumwesigye is said to have been missing for the last five days. It was not until today that his body was found on the bed in the house where he was staying alone,” ASP Maate stated.
Maate said that a team of officers visited and documented the scene, before the body was conveyed to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem to establish the definitive cause of death.
Meanwhile the police spokesperson , Elly Maate, has since confirmed that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain actively ongoing.
