Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Ms. Ronah, a renowned Radio figure who also served as Kabale District Woman Mp from 2011 to 2016 made the remarks yesterday at her thanks giving ceremony in Kampala.
Eliab Naturinda Mporera defeated State Minister of Industry David Bahati in the Ndorwa West MP election held on January 15, 2026 bringing an end to Bahati’s 20 year uninterrupted reign as the area MP. The contest between Bahati and Mporera was characterized by controversy, and electoral violence that left a number of voters injured, and the exchange of words between the two camps has since gone beyond the election day.
Ms. Ronah who openly endorsed Eliab Naturinda Mporera during the 2026 Election Campaigns, argued that it was time to put an end to the fights and focus on the development of Ndorwa West Constituency. She went ahead to invite Minister Bahati’s Political Assistants Mr. Wilber Kanyesigye and Pascal who were present at the ceremony, parading them before Mporera for reconciliation.

“Do not look at them, as your forever rivals, now that the election Campaigns are over. I know these two as good Mobilizers, and they could be brought on board as you embark on your leadership tenure” Ronah said.
CUE IN…RONAH ON BAHATI’S P.As
In his Speech, Naturinda Eliab Mporera accepted the call, and invited the Minister’s Political Assistants to join him in implementation of the development agenda he had for Ndorwa West Constituency. The Lawyer turned Politician said he was ready to work with everyone, even those who opposed him to the point of making attempts on his life.
“I forgave you, and I’m ready to work with you,” he said while addressing his statements to Minister Bahati’s Political Assistants.
Mporera emphasized the need to put Ndorwa West before any individual interests, adding that the constituency was there before all of them, and it would remain even when they are gone.
“It is therefore important that we put our feelings aside and work towards preserving the gains, as we aim to leave a long lasting legacy for the generations after us” he said.
CUE IN… MPORERA ON BAHATI’S SUPPORTERS
After his Speech, Mporera went down to the tent where Minister Bahati’s P.As were sitting and shook their hands, in a reconciliation gesture. However, the two jumped away, when they saw Cameras approaching.
When asked about it, Mr. Wilber Kanyesigye, Minister Bahati’s Political Assistant charged with constituency affairs, said it was too early for the photos.
“This is not time for Photos,” he said in a short response.
In the January 15th general elections, Mporera garnered 22,601 votes, defeating Bahati, who ran as an independent, with 17,282 votes.
Another independent, Boaz Rugyerehe, got 88 votes, giving Naturinda a winning margin of 5,319 votes.
This was the second time Mporera defeated Bahati in an election for the same seat, after the two first faced off in the July 17, 2025 NRM primary election. Mporera won the party primary contest with 25,027 votes, securing 50.9% against Bahati’s 23,759 votes (48.3%). Bahati went on to contest as an independent candidate, a move that also made him lose his office as the Kabale District NRM Chairperson.
The Minister who did not appear at the Kabale District Tally Centre for the final results declaration, has not made any Public statement since Mporera was declared the winner on January 16, 2026.
