KISORO, UGANDA, Residents of Nyakagezi Village in Rukundo Town Council, Kisoro District, have appealed to the government to establish a health facility in their area, citing the hardships faced by pregnant women who struggle to access maternity services.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The urgent appeal was made directly to the area MP, Kamara John Nizeyimana, during his campaign rally in Nyakagezi village, Bushunga A and B, Gatobo, and Kabande villages by the Kabuye Cell Chairperson, Enoth Nzita.
While welcoming the MP and addressing the voters, Nzita stressed that the community lacks essential services, particularly a health centre to serve both local residents and people from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He further underscored the critical need for a local school, revealing that young children undertake treks of several kilometers to access the most basic education, a situation that is discouraging and puts their safety at risk.
Nzita also commended the MP for supporting residents with hoes and spades during a recent Burungi Bwansi (community road rehabilitation) initiative after heavy rainfall caused landslides and damaged roads.
