RUKIGA, UGANDA – The aspiring legislator for Rukiga County, Hon. Benita Rumanzi Bushari, has launched his parliamentary campaign with a resounding pledge to champion community development and advocate for better livelihoods for his constituents.

The educationist-turned-politician kicked off his campaign trail in Bukinda Sub-County, where he was met by overwhelming crowds of enthusiastic supporters.

Defying the challenge of impassable roads, a key issue in his manifesto, the campaign caravan pressed on, signaling the candidate’s commitment to reaching every voter.

In a stirring critique delivered to a massive gathering at Karorwa Church of Uganda, Hon. Rumanzi attributed the constituency’s backward slide to the selfishness of leaders who have neglected public welfare.

He stated that the needs of the people have been forgotten, expressing deep concern over dilapidated infrastructure, failing social services, and a critical lack of economic opportunities such as proper marketplaces.

“In the days of Manzi and Sabiti, our constituency was progressing rapidly, but now other districts are overtaking us terribly. We are left with poor roads, failing schools, and broken health facilities,” Rumanzi lamented.

Hon. Rumanzi charged the electorate to rally behind his candidacy and usher in a new era of leadership dedicated to grassroots development and accountable governance.

Outlining his key legislative priorities, he confirmed that his first plan of action upon election would be to advocate for the improved welfare of public servants.

“I will push for increased salaries of teachers, doctors, and all government workers, not forgetting their overall well-being,” he declared.

Despite intermittent rain showers that have characterized the weather in the Kigezi region, political campaigns in Rukiga District continue to gain momentum.

The inclement conditions have done little to dampen the spirits of candidates and voters alike, as the race for representation intensifies.
