State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi has given a comprehensive outline of the Governments’ achievements in Rubanda District in the last five years, asking the leaders to protect the gains by mobilizing support for President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM party.

His area of focus was the infrastructure projects undertaken by the NRM Government between the 2020/2021 and 2025/2026 financial years.
Key among them is the ongoing construction of the first Rubanda District Hospital with a budget of Shs. 18.5 billion in Muko Subcounty, completion of two Seed Schools—Ruhiija Seed Secondary School, built at a cost of Shs. 3.1 billion, and Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School, constructed with an initial budget of Shs. 2.42 billion. These are in addition to the Shs. 2.1 billion Nyamweru Seed Secondary School that was also commissioned in 2021.
Additionally, the district has raised funds for classroom blocks, multi-purpose halls, and dormitories at various institutions including Nyaruhanga High School, Bufundi College, St. Aquinas Kashaki S.S, St. Adrian Seminary, St. Agatha Girls S.S, Bubare S.S, Nyamiringa P.S, and Kitagwenda P.S, among others.
While the establishment of a Technical Institute remains a work in progress, Musasizi revealed that discussions with the Minister of Education and Sports have reached an agreement in principle to allocate resources toward its startup.
The Minister also gave a highlight on the NRM Government’s Road infrastructure management with a total allocation of Shs. 176 billion for nationwide road maintenance, at least Shs. 1 billion allocated per district. In this regard, Musasizi cited newly rehabilitated roads such as Ndeego-Kashaasa-Nshanjare, Habushoro-Kiyebe-Ruhiija, and Habikyenzi-Kakyenaga-Kuyokyezo-Butambi.
He noted that the district’s road equipment, which has been in use for four years, is nearing the end of its useful life, and new machinery will be procured in the next term of office to ensure continued efficiency.
Infrastructure development at the district headquarters was also underlined, and the Minister pointed at the ongoing construction of the new Rukiiko Hall and the D.H.O’s Office.
“In a few years from now, you will be holding your council sessions in a modern meeting hall,” he said
In the water sector, Musasizi announced the upcoming launch of a Shs. 72 billion piped water projects benefiting Kashenyi and Nangara areas. He revealed that he is also negotiating (on behalf of Government) for a funding of €158 million to support the Karengyere (Muko) piped water project. Future plans include extending water services to the Kibuzigye-Bushuura area in Hamuhambo Town Council.

On poverty alleviation and wealth creation, the Minister reported that over Shs. 21 billion has been disbursed through various programs, including PDM and Emyooga, to help residents escape poverty. “I encourage you all to guide the people on how they can take advantage of these programs and join the formal economy,” he urged.

Addressing the district council, Musasizi reiterated the importance of safeguarding these developmental gains, emphasizing that “everything we have achieved is a result of teamwork and dedication. Protecting these gains by mobilizing support for President Museveni is crucial for continued progress and prosperity in Rubanda.” He added.
Meanwhile, the Rubanda District Vice Chairperson Prossy Kesafari Akampurira noted that all the key achievements outlined by Minister Musasizi and others he did not mention, have been included in a video documentary that will soon be released for public view.

The NRM Presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to campaign in Rubanda District on November 24, 2025.
Asst. RDC Hillary Bindeeba told council that Museveni’s advance team had inspected and approved Kabirizi primary School playground in Nyakabungo Ward, Rubanda Town Council as the Venue for the campaign rally.
