KISORO, UGANDA – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit to Kisoro District on November 24, 2025, has been officially confirmed, in a strategic move to bolster local support ahead of the 2026 general elections.

He addressed a gathered crowd at the inauguration ceremony of Kisoro District’s first Khadi, Sheikh Ali Mwesigye, held at Kisoro Hill Primary School.
Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa called for unity and collective action to foster development, promoting President Museveni’s new slogan, “Protecting the Gains.”
Deputy Speaker Tayebwa also commended the President’s long-standing record on national security, specifically praising the maintenance of peace and stability in Kisoro and throughout Uganda—a feat he emphasized as crucial given the district’s proximity to the conflict-prone Democratic Republic of Congo.
Reaffirming the State House schedule, Tayebwa stated, “I can confirm that His Excellency President Museveni’s official visit to Kisoro District is scheduled for November 24, 2025.”
The upcoming visit is eagerly anticipated by local leaders and residents, who see it as a vital opportunity to engage directly with the President on issues of local development and to celebrate the community’s progress.
