KABALE, UGANDA – Hon. David Bahati’s mobilization team has launched a full-scale grassroots campaign following his official confirmation that he will contest for the Ndorwa West parliamentary seat in the 2026 elections.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The flurry of activity was triggered by a widely circulated 1-minute, 18-second video message from Hon. Bahati on social media platforms, including TikTok.
In the video, the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Industry) formally announced his political comeback and made a direct appeal to the electorate.
“To all my people in Ndorwa West, I am coming. I ask for your support and your blessings, and let us continue to support our President, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,” Bahati stated.
Led by Mr. Alex Bujara, the mobilization team has now launched its mission to convert his campaign declaration into tangible voter support.
“We are committed to protecting our constituency and planning ahead to finish our development strategy. Minister Bahati has developed better plans for the area and is ready to continue his good work for the people of Ndorwa West,” Bujara asserted.
This development firmly puts to rest rumors that Bahati would opt out of the 2026 race after a major political upset during the NRM party primaries.
Official results from that contest showed lawyer Eliab Mporera securing 25,027 votes, surpassing Bahati, who garnered 23,757 votes.
As the mobilization team moves to the grassroots, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive race in Ndorwa West, pitting the experience and national profile of the incumbent MP David Bahati against, Eliab Mporera.
