The conference, which has drawn participants from schools and universities across the Kigezi region, is being held under the theme derived from Matthew 28:19, which urges believers to “go and make disciples of all nations.”
Rev. Ruzaza expanded on this message, encouraging attendees to embody the spirit of discipleship through love, integrity, and service in their schools and communities.
He emphasized the importance of moral integrity for future professionals, particularly those entering teaching and social work, stressing that quality service must be rooted in honesty and a heart for service rather than short-term gains obtained through corrupt practices.
Beyond the anti-corruption message, Rev. Ruzaza also urged students to cultivate a spirit of compassion and generosity.
He reminded them that many had themselves been supported by unknown benefactors during their upbringing and called on them to pay this forward by helping those in need.
“Even the smallest acts of kindness create ripples of hope; they not only uplift and transform entire communities but also return as blessings to those who give with a selfless heart,” Ruzaza emphasized.
According to the Scripture Union Chairperson, Kakuru Jimmy, the conference began on Friday evening and is scheduled to run through Tuesday of next week.
The program is carefully structured to accommodate different educational levels, with university and secondary school students receiving age-appropriate teachings distinct from those delivered to younger pupils some as young as seven years old.
The event reflects a growing effort within the region to integrate faith, ethical training, and education, aiming to shape a generation of service-oriented leaders committed to positive community transformation.
