Rubanda, Uganda – The territorial police in Rubanda are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a casual labourer whose body was discovered with deep cuts to the head.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased has been identified as Edson Orikiriza, also known as Ntugusa, a resident of Hamuhambo Cell, Kagarama Parish, in Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District.
Orikiriza was allegedly murdered by unknown perpetrators at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Hamurambi Cell, Kagarama, with his body being discovered later that morning at around 7:00 a.m.
The area chairperson, Benon Turyahebwa, promptly informed police at Lake Bunyonyi of the incident, initiating the official investigation.
Kigezi Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed that officers from CPS Rubanda responded to the crime scene, which was thoroughly processed and documented.
A postmortem examination conducted at the location by the Police Surgeon revealed preliminary findings that the victim had sustained deep cuts to his head.
Maate stated that inquiries into the matter are ongoing as authorities work to determine the full details surrounding the incident.
