Rukiga Community Abuzz as Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Clinches NRM Nomination

Rukiga, Uganda – Excitement fills Rukiga community as the aspiring district’s woman legislator Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe has officially been nominated to contest for the NRM flag in the upcoming Party parliamentary elections.

Dr. Sylvia, the ex-Deputy Managing Director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), was nominated on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala, just days after handing over her office.

Backed by her Rukiga supporters at the nomination, Dr. Sylvia expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the NRM party Electoral Commission, led by Dr. Tanga Odoi, for the trust and support.

She reaffirmed her commitment to upholding and implementing the party’s manifesto, which emphasizes peace, unity, socio-economic transformation, and service to the people.

As she prepares to take on the challenge ahead, Dr. Alinaitwe assured her readiness to serve the people of Rukiga and Uganda with integrity, humility, and dedication.

With the Parliamentary Flag Bearer Elections scheduled for July 16, 2025, Dr. Alinaitwe’s team is gearing up for a vigorous campaign.

The official launch of Dr. Alinaitwe’s campaigns is set for June 20, 2025, at Kantare Playground, starting with a mega rally from Muhanga Town Council.

According to Kyarisiima Moreen, Dr. Alinaitwe’s Personal Assistant and leader of the organizing committee, the event promises to be a grand affair, showcasing Dr. Alinaitwe’s vision and commitment to the people of Rukiga.
