Tayebwa Warns Youth Against Sectarianism

Kanungu, Uganda – Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, has warned the youth against sectarianism based on religion, emphasizing its detrimental impact on development.

Tayebwa made these remarks on Saturday while officiating as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of 101 students at Great Lakes Regional University in Kanungu District.

Tayebwa stressed that sectarianism has no place in Parliament, urging people to focus on progress and development instead.

“I want to seriously caution you against sectarianism based on religion. Don’t join this act; it hinders development and has no place in Parliament. I also urge you to focus on progress and development,” said Thomas Tayebwa.

During the ceremony, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, was installed as the University Chancellor.

Great Lakes Regional University, established in 2015, offers various undergraduate and graduate programs in fields like business, education, health sciences, and technology.
