South Ankole, Namirembe Dioceses Cement Partnership Through Benchmarking Visit

Ntungamo, Uganda – The South Ankole Diocese has successfully hosted a four-day benchmarking visit for Namirembe Diocese, showcasing various projects initiated by the diocese.

The projects include a four-storeyed Mother’s Union Complex, coffee plantations on 80 acres of land, banana plantations, an irrigation scheme, and a fish pond project.

The visit aimed to benchmark these projects and share key development and gospel information to transform lifestyles and fight household poverty.

The delegation from Namirembe Diocese, led by Bishop Rt Rev Moses Banja, was welcomed by the South Ankole Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe.

The South Ankole Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe, congratulated the team for fostering networking ties with the diocese, stressing that the visit helped both sides share key development and gospel information.

Mama Lillian Ahimbisibwe revealed the diocese’s plans to skill mothers in traditional skills like weaving and crafts to generate income at the household level.

The delegation leader, Bishop Moses Banja, appreciated the coffee and banana projects, pledging to harness the collaboration between the two dioceses.

The Archdeacon Kibatsi, Ven Rev Azaria Mwebembezi, highlighted project achievements, including coffee attributed to unity and commitment towards the development of the Archdeaconry.

The South Ankole Diocese has been a model for development-oriented ideas, with various delegations visiting to learn from their experiences.

The diocese plans to roll out water harvest tanks and sanitation programs to change the welfare of parishioners, demonstrating its commitment to economic empowerment and community development.
