This was revealed by Francis Guriro the Chairperson of the batwa community living in Mikingo village in Kisoro municipality/District.

The Chairperson acknowledged that most people believe and consider Batwa people as the Root causes of increased criminal cases ranging from; theft, robbery and indiscipline in their areas of residence.

Francis said that both the leaders of Kisoro District/Municipality have severally pointed fingers on the Batwa Communities as Terrible residents full of bad deeds, who wait to show their colors during night hours.

He further encouraged the Batwa community to always portray good morals so that they can be hired by the people with casual works in the town and earn money.

“A number of people here tend to believe and consider the Batwa residents to be threat causers of an increased crime rate. Talk of theft, robbery, being indiscipline and that’s why even people with Casual Jobs can’t hire us to work for them. But I kindly request my fellow batwa to be disciplined in all ways so that we can change our society” said Guriro Francis.

Francis Guriro charged people to understand that their areas of residence is not a place where all people with bad hearts are hidden, believing and playing for a great change in the Batwa sooner than positive.
