Twesigomwe, who also serves as Kabale District Youth Council Secretary for Finance, is among eight youth leaders from across the country, who has expressed interest in vying for the NRM flag, beginning with the primary election slated for September 30, 2025.

The NRM primary election winner will then contest in the NYC general election scheduled for October 4, 2025.

Addressing a press conference in Kabale town today, Twesigomwe said his ambition to join the National Youth Council Executive is driven by a desire to advocate for increased funding for youth structures to ensure effective leadership.

He pledged to ensure that government funds allocated for youth development initiatives such as Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP), and the Parish Development Model (PDM) reach their rightful beneficiaries.

“We have recently learnt that government releases a lot of funds for the youth, but only a small fraction of it reaches them because it ends up in the wrong hands, and there’s no one to speak out about it,” he said.
