“Call Your Daughter,” Full Figure, Minister Begs Museveni at Public Event

KAMPALA, UGANDA – The Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, directly called upon President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to remember his designated presidential advisor on youth matters, Jennifer Nakangubi, popularly known as Full Figure.

The unexpected appeal was made on Sunday, September 21, 2025, during the launch of the Boda Boda Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

The event, presided over by President Museveni, was primarily aimed at boosting and strengthening the boda boda industry within the Kampala Metropolitan Area.

Standing beside the ailing Full Figure, who was present but visibly unwell, Minister Babalanda diverted from the official program to highlight the advisor’s poor health.

The Minister pleaded for the President’s outreach, underscoring that his personal gesture would be a critical balm for Nakangubi’s psychological well-being, offering unparalleled solace and strength from the highest office.

“Your Excellency, your daughter, Full Figure, has been sick and bedridden for quite a long time. She requires a phone call from you to comfort her in her recovery,” Minister Babalanda stated.

The mention of Nakangubi brings to the fore a recent and controversial incident in which the youth advisor was involved in a highly publicized assault case.

She alleged that Justine Nameere, the NRM flagbearer for Masaka Woman MP, and Nameere’s husband attacked her, making off with her mobile phone and UGX 500,000 in cash.

The incident ignited a firestorm on social media and in public discourse, sharply dividing Ugandans between those who condemned the alleged violence and others who criticized Nakangubi’s own behavior in the altercation as provocative.

Beyond the personal appeal, the event focused on the economic empowerment of boda boda riders.

Minister Babalanda used her official remarks to thank President Museveni for the government’s continued investment in road infrastructure, which she stated eases the work of taxi operators and boda boda riders.

However, President Museveni struck a cautious tone when addressing the financial aspects of the SACCO initiative, pointedly questioning the whereabouts of funds invested in similar boda boda SACCOs as early as 2011.

President Museveni pledged a full and rigorous audit of the previously allocated funds, declaring his intent to “follow the money” and ensure strict accountability for any financial improprieties uncovered.

In a significant boost to the current initiative, President Museveni committed to injecting two billion two hundred million Ugandan Shillings (UGX 2.2 billion) into the boda boda SACCOs as seed capital, aiming to provide a more secure financial foundation for the operators and prevent past failures.

The event thus juxtaposed a heartfelt personal plea from a senior minister with serious presidential commitments to investigate past financial discrepancies and fund a vital sector of the informal economy.
