The Bishop made the appeal on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, while officiating at a clergy retreat aimed at spiritual rejuvenation and pastoral strengthening across the entire diocese.

The three-day annual retreat, which is scheduled to conclude on August 28th, 2025, is being held at Kyamate Secondary School in Ntungamo Municipality and has brought together church leaders from across the diocese’s 13 Archdeaconries and 67 parishes.

Held under the theme, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9), the conference serves as a dedicated period for clergy to step away from their demanding regular duties.

Speaking at the commencement of the pastoral retreat, he urged them to be exemplary role models in public and to leverage their platforms to advocate for economic empowerment.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe said the retreat offers crucial spiritual renewal, reflection, and professional development, comparing church leaders to vehicles that need regular servicing to stay effective.

He further charged the clergy with a practical mission, urging them to be exemplary public role models and leverage their platforms to advocate for economic empowerment.

The retreat is expected to feature sessions on prayer, theological workshops, and fellowship, providing a vital support network for the clergy as they prepare for the upcoming season of ministry.
