“I believe the party elections might have influenced the transport business. Many people are likely staying off the roads due to the elections.”Geoffrey said.

In related news, the NRM LC I elections in Muhanga Central cell have concluded, with Kafunga Benson emerging as the winner. Benson garnered 307 votes, defeating Mugahewenki Nicholas, who secured 112 votes.

Speaking after the election, Kafunga Benson expressed his gratitude to the electorate and outlined his plans to mobilize support for the NRM party in preparation for the 2026 general elections.

“The process has gone well, and our task now is to launch mobilization efforts for the party,” Benson said.

The NRM chairmanship seat was highly contested, with both candidates being prominent figures in the village.

According to Mr. Lightone Ainebyoona, NRM Publicity Officer Muhanga Town cell, the competition was fierce, but the process ultimately concluded smoothly.

“The seat was highly contested, but we are pleased with how the process unfolded,” Ainebyoona said.

Meanwhile, Mugahewenki Nicholas disputed the election results, alleging that the process was marred by violence.

He announced plans to challenge the outcome at the NRM Office, citing concerns over the presiding officer’s failure to verify registered voters during the election.
