Kisoro, Uganda – The leadership of Kisoro Hospital has expressed gratitude for the fruitful collaboration with Kisoro Institute of Health Sciences, which has significantly enhanced service delivery to the community.
According to Dr. Bahane Emmanuel, Medical Superintendent of Kisoro Hospital, the partnership has brought about a positive transformation in the facility.
“The presence of nursing students at our facility has significantly enhanced our service delivery. Since we started partnering with the Kisoro Institute of Health Sciences, one nurse is no longer overwhelmed with handling two wards, as the workload has been greatly reduced with the support of nursing students from the institute,” said Dr. Bahane.

To achieve this, the institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kisoro Hospital, allowing students to practice and apply their skills.
“We established Kisoro Institute of Health Sciences to equip students with medical skills and empower them with the knowledge to serve the community. We have an understanding with Kisoro Hospital to provide our students with practical experience. We also plan to send capable students to rural health facilities, such as Chahafi Health Centre IV, Busanza Health Centre IV, and Rubuguri Health Centre IV, to extend services to those areas,” Munyambabazi stated.
