Kigali, Rwanda – Uganda’s Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine, has underscored the importance of regular health check-ups in detecting diseases early.

The forum, held under the theme “Leadership on NCDs Towards 2025 & Beyond!”, brought together global health experts to discuss strategies for combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Dr. Atwine noted that early detection enables timely management and intervention, preventing costly treatment, poor health outcomes, or even death.
She urged individuals to prioritize their health, stressing the significance of proactive healthcare.
“Early detection of diseases like cardiovascular conditions enables timely intervention when the situation is still reversible. In contrast, delayed detection leads to late diagnosis, resulting in costly treatment, poor health outcomes, or even fatalities. I urge everyone to prioritize their health.” Dr. Atwine noted.
By emphasizing the importance of routine check-ups, Dr. Atwine aims to promote a culture of preventive healthcare, encouraging individuals to take charge of their health and seek medical attention before it’s too late.
