RUKIGA, UGANDA – The lifeless body of a Rwandan national was discovered lying in front of a casual laborer’s house at Kitaburaza Cell, Muganga Town Council, Rukiga District, on Sunday morning.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased, identified only as Fakasi, 25, a casual laborer, had been residing in Muhanga alongside fellow village mates from Manyagiro Village, Kicumbi, Rwanda. Two months ago, he went to Kampala for work.
Fakasi was allegedly strangled to death by unknown assailants in an incident believed to have occurred between midnight and the early morning hours of Sunday.
The grim discovery was made when one of his village mates stepped outside to answer a short call and stumbled upon Fakasi’s body lying motionless at the doorstep.
The shocked witness immediately alerted other casual laborers working at the late Aponye’s garden, who then notified the area chairperson, one Kagurusi Benard who swiftly informed the police.
The Kigezi police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, told the media that upon receiving the report, a team of officers led by the District Criminal Investigations Officer (CID) rushed to the scene.
He added that the crime scene was thoroughly examined and evidence was meticulously documented as inquiries and investigations into the alleged brutal murder take shape.
“The deceased, who had been staying in Muhanga with fellow Rwandan villagers, traveled to Kampala for work two months ago. Early this morning, a village mate found him lying lifeless in front of the house. The crime scene was examined and documented by the District CID Officer and team,” said Elly Maate.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been transported to Kabale Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
