KABALE – The Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alineitwe, today led a high-profile delegation from Rukiga District to the episcopal ordination and installation of Msgr. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire as the new Bishop of Kabale Diocese.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The historic ceremony, held at St. Ignatius University in Kabale, drew faithful and dignitaries from across the region to witness the elevation of Bishop Gubazire, who becomes the fifth Bishop of the Diocese since its establishment in 1966.
Hon. Dr. Alineitwe was accompanied by a distinguished team of Rukiga district leaders, including the Rukiga County Member of Parliament Hon. Kiconco Patrick Katabazi (KP), the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Kamusiime Zadock and the Rukiga LC V Chairperson Simon Mutebi Rwamagyenda, among others.
The presence of the Rukiga delegation underscored the strong ties between the district and the Kabale Diocese, which serves Catholics across the districts of Kabale, Rubanda, Kisoro, Kanungu, and Rukungiri.
Bishop Gubazire takes over the shepherd’s staff from Bishop Callistus Rubaramira, who has admirably led the Diocese for the past 23 years. The new Bishop’s installation marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Catholic community in the Kigezi sub-region.
Speaking at the event, the leaders expressed their congratulations to the new Bishop and reaffirmed their commitment to working with the church for the spiritual and socio-economic development of the region.
