Kisoro, Uganda – The Kisoro District Police have apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in a violent robbery in Rushenyi Village, Sooko Parish, Muramba Sub-county.
The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on April 29, 2025, at Mugomberero Trading Centre, where four armed men stormed a shop owned by Turinayo Michael.
During the raid, the Armed attackers shot shop attendant Kenneth Mucunguzi in the arm and stole over 23 million shillings, firing shots into the air to intimidate bystanders before fleeing.
According to the Kisoro District Police Commander (DPC), Ben Niwamanya Kashumbusha, two suspects are currently in custody: Ndishimiye Brandon and Munezero Bashir, also known as Sunday Dam.
The DPC revealed that the arrested suspects are residents of the same sub-county and will undergo further investigation due to the nature of the robbed funds, which belonged to a certain cooperative.
“The investigation will help us uncover more details about the crime and the involvement of the suspects. Once the investigation is complete, the suspects will be taken to court to face trial on charges of aggravated robbery.” Kashumbusha stated.

The police are actively pursuing two remaining suspects linked to the robbery, with the DPC assuring the public of diligent efforts to bring them to justice and recover the stolen funds.
