Kampala, Uganda – YY Coaches has been instructed to submit a comprehensive list of all its drivers, including their appointment letters and copies of driver badges, for verification.
Following the Works and Transport Ministry’s directive, the company is undergoing a 15-day suspension and has subjected its buses to inspection.
The inspection of all YY Coaches buses is currently being conducted at the Namanve Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, as directed by the Minister of State for Works & Transport.
The Ministry issued the 15-day suspension last week after a series of tragic road crashes involving the company’s buses resulted in loss of life.
According to the Minister of State for Works & Transport, YY Coaches must fulfill the new requirement within the suspension period before resuming operations on any highway in Uganda.
The inspection and verification process aim to assess the company’s compliance with safety regulations and determine its readiness to resume operations.
