Kisoro, Uganda – The Kasemisego Youth Development Group has expressed gratitude to Kisoro Municipality MP hopeful Hon. Dr. Leo Mfitimana for laying the foundation stone for their piggery project.

The initiative aims to enhance socio-economic transformation among the youth, fight unemployment, and equip young people with skills in pig rearing.

The group members had been struggling to raise funds to buy pigs and construct a modern piggery facility, but Dr. Mfitimana’s support has brought new hope.

They expressed heartfelt gratitude for his unwavering commitment to uplifting youth across the municipality, recognizing his efforts as a beacon of hope for their socio-economic transformation.

Asimwe Emmanuel, Vice Chairperson of the group, commended Dr. Mfitimana for his forward-thinking vision to empower Kasemisego’s youth.

He noted that previous leaders had neglected their initiatives, but Dr. Mfitimana’s support is helping them grow economically.

Emmanuel emphasized that improved household incomes will benefit individual families and reduce domestic violence caused by financial stress.

Dr. Mfitimana reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the youth by engaging every individual in productive work and meaningful employment opportunities.

He announced that six pigs will be stocked early next week to kick-start the project, allowing the youth to begin hands-on learning in pig rearing.
