Kasese, Uganda – A serious road crash occurred on April 30, 2025, in Katwe Kabatoro Division, Kasese District, involving a Toyota Hiace (Drone) UA 825AN and a Fuso Fighter Truck.

It’s alleged that the accident happened when a speeding taxi drone from Mbarara, carrying four passengers and transporting a dead body, rammed into a stationary Fuso Fighter Truck, leaving scores of injuries.

According to SP Nelson Tumushime, Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, scores of injuries were registered, and Traffic Police from Kikorongo Police Station responded promptly, towing the two motor vehicles pending an Inspection of Vehicle (IOV) report.

In response to the incident, SP Tumushime cautioned drivers, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to avoid arrest and arraignment in courts of law.

“Our officers at Katwe Kabatoro Division registered a serious road crash last night involving a Toyota Hiace Drone and a Fuso Fighter Truck. Allegedly, a speeding Taxi Drone from Mbarara, carrying four passengers and transporting a dead body, rammed into a stationary Fuso Fighter Truck. We urge drivers to always adhere to traffic rules and regulations; failure to do so may result in arrest and arraignment in court,” said SP Nelson Tumushime.

For instance, a similar accident occurred on January 24, 2025, in Kyegegwa, where a Toyota Hiace accident claimed five lives and injured eight due to a tire burst.
