Kabale, Uganda – Police in Kabale District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Rwandan national, a male adult.
The deceased has been identified as Biryabarema, whose body was discovered at around 1:10 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in a sorghum plantation in Buhoro village, Rwene parish, Buhara sub-county.
According to eyewitnesses, Naturinda Joan, the plantation owner, stumbled upon the lifeless body while inspecting her crops.
She informed neighbors, who advised her to report the incident to the police, which she did at Rwene police post and Kabale Central Police Station (CPS).
The Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed that a team of police officers from Kabale CPS visited the crime scene, processed it, and documented evidence.
As part of the investigation, statements were recorded from relatives, area leaders, and locals, and the body was retrieved for a postmortem examination at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary.
Police spokesperson Maate confirmed that inquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding Biryabarema’s death, including whether foul play was involved and identifying potential suspects.
