Bushuura Solar Powered Water Project in Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District

Rubanda District Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba has today officially launched the construction of a solar-powered water project in Bushura Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District.

The project, valued at hundreds of millions of Ugandan shillings, is funded by TechnoServe Uganda with support from the Government of the Netherlands. The contract for its implementation has been awarded to Davis & Shirtliff Co. Ltd.

Once completed, the project will provide safe and clean water to residents of Hamuhambo Town Council and parts of Bubare Sub-county.

Speaking to residents gathered at the project site in Bushura Cell, Chairman Kasyaba explained the steps the District Local Government undertook to secure the project for Bushura Ward.

“Safe water for our people in Bushura has been a top priority in our regular Executive meetings for planning. I’m glad to see this project finally taking off,” Kasyaba said.

“I have no debt remaining in Hamuhambo Town Council,” he added.

Following the project launch, Chairman Kasyaba announced that he had fulfilled all the pledges he made during his first term as LC5 Chairperson of Rubanda District.

“I came with a manifesto, and I also pledged a number of things after the election. Bushura water was one of them. Now I have delivered, so I leave the rest to you,” Kasyaba said, urging residents of Hamuhambo Town Council to re-elect him in the upcoming general elections, starting with the NRM party primaries scheduled for August 24, 2025.

“I have been tested and proven to be effective. If you want this District to be fully transformed, look no further for the right leader to take us there. I’m here,” he added.
