Kasese, Uganda – The Territorial Police at Bwera Division in Kasese District have apprehended three individuals accused of masquerading as military officials attached to State House in Entebbe.
According to SP Nelson Tumushime, Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson, the trio was arrested after failing to provide proof of their alleged affiliation with State House. This prompted District Police Commander SP Tai Ramadan to order their immediate arrest.
During the arrest, authorities impounded a vehicle with registration number UBK 573 D, from which a sharp knife and stamps of different companies were recovered.
SP Tumushime urges anyone who may have been affected by the suspects’ actions to come forward and provide information to aid in their prosecution.
“We call upon members of the public who could have experienced or have been affected by actions of these suspects to reach out to us or the nearest Police Station near them to furnish us with information that will lead to their prosecution,” said Nelson Tumushime.
The three individuals face charges of impersonation and are currently awaiting file sanctioning, after which they will be arraigned in court to answer to the charges against them.
