Kisoro, Uganda – With just hours remaining until the NRM Party elections for sub-county and town council Local Council positions, Kisoro District NRM Registrar Mujambere Tadeo has issued a strong warning to aspiring candidates against attempting to bribe electoral registrars.
Speaking at a press briefing held today, August 13, 2025, at his office in Kisoro Municipality, Mujambere revealed that some LC3 chairperson aspirants for sub-counties and mayoral candidates for town councils have attempted to bribe registrars, a move that could disrupt the electoral process.
He emphasized that such actions risk undermining the integrity of the official voter register and firmly stated that only individuals whose names appear on the register will be permitted to vote.
To ensure a smooth and transparent exercise, Mujambere added that polling and election officers would undergo thorough training ahead of the election.
